Well I finally took the plunge, gutted the OBC on my 98 328i and changed the LCD's ribbon cable. It was pretty straight forward once I figured out how it's all held together. Now I got all pixels and a perfectly working clock
Got the car polished and waxed just in time for snow.....
lol my friend and I took it apart while chilling once to play with the bulb behind the clock cause it was flickering and ended up taking it all apart to fix the screens. With a paper fix, it's working pretty well, with some lines out when it's cold but when the car warms up, there's only 1 or 2 lines not working so I'm pretty happy.
