Unhappy e46 engine light on

Had parked my car (2000 e46 323i) for 4 days (short trip w/wife). When we returned, I drove my car and within 15-minutes the engine light went on. Everything seems to be in order... no weirdness that I can tell.

I was wondering if anyone has a OBDII diagnostic reader. We could meet sometime Saturday or Sunday (preferably). I'd just like to know what's the dealeeooh before takin' her into RMP.

I'm located in the west-end of Toronto. Around Dufferin/St. Clair. I am willing to meet almost anywhere in the city.

Thanks

I'll be in the Dovercourt/Dundas area this Sunday around 11 am if you still need a scan. PM me if interested. Stephen.

The oil light will not show any CEL, so OBD won't read anything.

Thanks @slemmer

Of course the Engine light stayed on for a couple of days (many restarts) but as I went to meet slemmer, it went off! Well, we checked to see if there were any fault codes, and there weren't. We'll just keep an 'eye' on that one :-)

@Eurostyle
Ain't nothing to do with oil light, maybe emission stuff, we's just don't know

Hmm, should have set a code. Maybe a vague misfire in one of your cylinders? Maybe moisture developed while it was sitting for the 4 days causing the CEL. I guess just see if it returns.

My obd1 740i sat for 20 days the check engine light kept on going on and off. Turned out to be my passanger side o2 sensor.

I had something similar happen to my E36 but instead of the 02 sensor, it was the actual baffles on the inside of the cat that fell apart due to moisture corroding it. From what i can remember, the car was sitting for about 3 months.

The issue (if there indeed is one) could be one of many things. I could sit, wonder and aggravate myself or just carry on, which I choose to do. I'm glad we scanned it, regardless... Thanks to @Eurostyle!

As we know, there will be other things I need to work on. Let's just hope they stave off as long as possible :-)
