Yea haters gonna hate; everyone needs something to complain about I guess. Lol douche waffle... "I".

Thanks guys; been busy for the holidays. Real vids are coming someone I know must have a video camera. Engine Management uses the Chevy LSx computer, in this case I believe it was from a Chev LS based truck. The harness is all wired in, no check engine lights or Christmas tree cluster.

Same sizing for exhaust Magnaflow uses; don't think its a problem. No back firing or any other exhaust related problems thus far.

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing the videos. How much do you figure this whole swap cost? Do you retain AC, brake boost, etc?

PS- "I"

Glad to finally see the write up, been waiting along time but good things are worth the wait!!

I may be able to help with the diff gears, I believe my 325is has a 3.15lsd and would be interested in a trade, not sure how low you want to go with gearing. I'll talk to you at the new years party tomorrow, and hoping the car will be there!!

Cost varies dramatically for different reasons; for example I picked up the Engine and Tranny for about $2,800 no accessories. The engine had 22,000 kms and the Tranny was a fresh rebuild from the states. I paid more for low mileage. Ideally you would want a complete pull out from the ls based car of your choice. This lets you bypass all the little costs of sourcing and paying for accessories like alternator, water pump, etc. The swap does not require shallow accessory drive from the vette, the accessories from an F-Body car are more ideal. As you can imagine there are quite a lot of variables. I would peg the average cost at about 9G's as a DIY (Assuming your labour is free), more if it is from a shop. If you are serious about it give Auto Evolution a call Rob should have an excellent idea as to how much he would charge to do it again.

You can retain the A/C. I did not have it before the swap; but it will be back in before next summer. I was able to keep the brake booster, although it sits very close to the head. Everything inside the car, with exception of items related to fuel mileage, continues to work after the swap.

Rich thanks for the offer but 3.15 is the wrong way. If I really want to feel the torque I would go to 3.46 or 4.10. for now I need some kind of decent fuel mileage. With the 3.23 I can cruise all day in 5th at 120 kmh pulling 2000 RPM. You will see what I mean tomorrow.

That's pretty bad-ass Dan! Glad to see (and hear) it finally completed. Wish I could have made it up to John's last night to check it out. I swear to god thought that I'm going to fix that tail-light the next time I see you. Can't wait to hear it in person!

To project e36, It's not what you are saying (although it wasn't necessary) it's how you're saying it. And for that, you ARE a douche!

To Sam.................."I"

To Dan, how did I not see this thread until now........wow. I love the write up. After seeing the car in person, and wathcing it roll holy f#$k! I've been talking about an LS swap in my e30 for 2 years now, and am waiting for the fundage to become available. I'm pretty envious! Dan you rock for doing your own thing and not caving in to the purists.

Funny you said this, one of my neighbors was furious, and drove by and had a shit fit on us for tear through my town with the car. Guy was acting a bit like a douche and over exaggerating but whatever, it was awesome to hear him hit the throttle at full tilt over a km away and hear it like it was in front of my house. And, shift gears at over 2km away...........purely awesome!!

Me wants!
