Alright so I got quite a bit done last night.
Made the oil cooler lines, mounted the oil cooler with Wills sweet brackets haha. Also got the motor back together 100%. Fresh oil, new filter, new fuel filter. Topped it up with some deionized water and a bit of coolant
Of course now it won't start...I'm double checked everything but can't seem to find the problem. I don't seem to hear the fuel pump either. Motor doesn't even crank.
I just remembered after getting home that the only change other than OBDI on the car was the clutch stop I put in. I'm hoping that's the problem. Since it's homemade and I've never adjusted it, the clutch pedal switch might not be working. Hopefully I can get this all sorted out today.

Alright I went to the shop tonight to get this stupid thing running and succeeded.
I gave Mike a call (from Stancefactory) since he's a BMW wiring genius. He explained how I had to bypass the EWS which I didn't think I needed to do. Then the car would crank but wasn't getting fuel.
Turned out when I changed the pumps and re-wired them, I got the positive and ground mixed up. So the pumped was operating, but backwards.
Rewired that, and it started perfectly. Runs great. Probably going to take it for a test drive tomorrow.
Also going to make my intake heat shield tomorrow. I make a DIY on that.
So it's almost there!
Whats left:
Install 3.73 LSD when it's done.
Change some of the rear end mounts and do front control arm mounts
Cage
Install seats and harnesses
New balljoints and Tie Rods
Then it's pretty much done!

you are still running an oem rad? :/
did you weld in reinforcement plates for the rear/front subframe?
nice progress.
like the euro expansion.

Whats wrong with OEM rads? I plan to get an aluminum rad in the future but it isn't necessary.
The front cross member will get plates later on, the rear subframe doesn't need anything since it's an M3.

I don't think it necessary personally. I ran a massive UUC rear bar for two years on my 328 with no signs of damage.
So with a stock swaybar in the back of this car, I dont think there will ever be an issue. Especially when the springs and rear end will be stiff enough that there won't be much pressure on the bar in the first place. Once you get the rear ends on these cars tightened up, the swaybar pretty much becomes obsolete.

From an aesthetics standpoint black is a great colour for the intake heat shield... from a thermodynamics stand point it's a terrible colour lol. I would have covered the side facing the engine with heat reflective tape.

Well in my opinion, it's just an intake heatshield. Not rocket science.
Sure I could buy some fancy tape for it, but is it going to make a difference? No.

It's not too fancy, you can by a 2" wide x 30' long roll for $5 at home depot, less than the cost of a can of spray paint. It was just a suggestion.
