You can't honestly tell me there's nothing similar about the two. That is what I think about when I hear E36 and non-stock exhaust in the same sentence/subject, etc.

PS. I don't need an S52 to go fast all you guys need all the help you can get at the racetrack to catch up to meeee lol j/k... but srsly.
I dont see an exhaust on it..just pipes

My dinan muffler (stock headers, stock midsection) sounds nothing like that.

I do agree the euro/S54 do sound sick with the right exhaust, otherwise i hate the "rattling tin" type of sound on stock S54.

ive heard the borla cat back, and it sounds pretty sick. but i just dont like the surprise of buying a new exhaust. It has to be one of the worst things to spent over $600 and not enjoy it. i would love to have a louder throaty scream at high rpm, no highway drone, and basically no noise during city driving. That is just too good to be true

M3 one, with a partly gutted Muffler(i was told you could gutted it and fill it with fibreglass packing? if im not mistaken)... i read its suppose to sound rediculously good... helps with the higway drone.

When I got my 325is it had a single in dual out magna flow which sounded like ass, and was way too load. It was quickly changed with a 328 muffler, which is one of the heaviest mufflers I have ever seen. I picked up a dual in dual out magnaflow and it sounds so much better, not truck like at all. Car has stock manifolds and cat sections. Main reason I changed it was for weight savings but love the way it sounds. This may change next summer as I plan on cams/header/CIA.
