Depending on the color of paint you can hide swirl marks. However, if you are fussy and want to eliminate them, then you need a waffle pad. We know the marks come from the spin of the polisher pad and abrasion of the product used. So once you get down to the fine polish part; you'll need something to disturb the pattern left on the paint/clear surface. A waffle pad -although it spins is like a rain tire on the track and not a slick. the whole contact area doesn't touch at the same time. This will help. Now you can also use a orbital buffer - those huge things that buzz around in your hands. It has the same effect. Take somewhat longer I would think. and a really really niece polishing compound. how much time do you have? lol
