Alright... enough sanding. I'm sick of it for today, I don't care how many imperfections there are... I just want to see WHITE!
Richard also chopped out the front signal light holes for me
After I was done with it:
Light fitted! OMG, looks soooo good
*Russell Peters voice* PAAAAAAIIIINNNNTTT
Don't worry about the light coat, its supposed to be my base. It will be sanded lightly, and at least 2 more coats will be applied.
Since the new fiberglass parts are already white from the gelcoat, they look great with just one coat!
So that was yesterday. We'll see what I can get done today!!

I bet you could just leave it with Richard for a few weeks and he'd work on it by himself without you. I wish I had a cool winter project to keep me busy.

Haha, Richard only gets to stay for a few hours a week until he gets summoned by his girlfriend *whip crack* I bet it wouldn't be much better at his house
The reason I am hustling here is because the moment Dad gets back home, the car gets booted out of the shop. Soooo... Gotta take advantage of free indoor workspace

Today Richard and Kurt came by to lend a hand... and it just because another pizza/shoot the shit day. Good times, but not much work completed. All that got done was scrape excess paint off of the left rear quarter panel, mark door dings on the left side, put right side fenders on and oogle at the paint/make fun of my bodywork on the door and we got started on the trunk before it got late. Sprayed a coat of Tremclad onto the fender well, and daaamnn this stuff covers NICE. Maybe I should spraybomb the whole car? lol

Got a bit welding done. Kinda warped the metal a bit... time to go a bit easier on the heat next time! Still need to finish the one patch to round out the corner of the valance and take care of a few small holes on the left side, then its clean up, and paint time! Also drilled a few holes to test fit the new fiberglass rear bumper. I'll try and get pics of that tomorrow.
Here is the patches for the right side (that warped like mad)...
Still gotta finish that bottom section and the right side is ready for paint!

Thanks Mike!
Got some more welding done today. I have come to the conclusion I hate welding. Mainly because I suck at it lol. I have a hard time patching these pieces together yet I can weld up one of those molding holes like its nothing! Weird. Anywho, pics from today:
Didn't feel like welding right away, so I started to hack off the paint that I started to scrape off on the weekend. Once that was done, I had to turn my attention to the trim holes that had to be welded up. Grinded them down, sanded the entire area to get it all smoothish.
I'm getting good at these! Got the whole door left though!
Mixed some filler and slopped it on
Now for that valance corner... ugh. I bent another piece for the straight bit, about 3 or so inches wide... but I knew the corner would be a challenge. With a bit of chopping, and banging away, I got something that resembles the bottom corner.
And all welded in, just a few extra welds to cover some holes I missed the first time. Looks alright, and matches the left side well I think!
Tomorrow its grinding and filling up the rear end panel so I can finally paint!!
