Ha, it's just a discussion! I know the E36 was a family saloon, but still, the E36 coupe was debuted a year later, the M came out a few more years after that. Nothing crazy on the styling. They could have played around with the body on the E36 M like they did with the E30 but they didn't. E31 was a complete different class, but even still as sexy as the 8er's were, they had nothing on styling when it came to the Japs. Look at any of the german coupe's. The corrado, same thing, the GTI's, nothing special. Mercedes had their SL's (different class, but still with the simple styling cues).

Theres no arguing the Japs were ahead of their time with the cars they built. The MR2's, Prelude's, Skylines, RX7's, Supra's, 300's, all sexy and curvy, that took years for the German's to finally catch on... but then the Japs lost their touch, and eventually, BMW let a cracked-out american design their cars, and car design has gone to shit ever since!

I disagree, 850csi looks way better than those cars you listed.
MR2, Prelude shouldn't be even this discussion.

The reason why e36 didn't have a widebody because it wasn't needed. Car was already pretty wide. If you look at touring cars none of them had any widebody, it was clearly not needed.

See, your not getting me. This is why your ass got deported!

I'm talking about design. The 8 series, as sexy as it was, still had some very subtle curves on it. Even the MR2 and Prelude, both introduced in 92 were very curvy/sporty cars!

Just because it had subtle curves doesn't mean the design is any better or worse than than a car with more curves. Take the new caddilac designs for example: no curves at all, just angles, and the car looks sexy as hell.

They look to be ahead of their time. Both are beautiful to this very day. The e30 M3, not to offend its many fans here, looks like a rally car by comparison.
