There is only ONE place that I EVER bring my vehicles in this town - Frisby on Clyde!
I have trusted these guys for over 15 years with everything from my 1972 Dodge Challenger to my Escalade, and Nissan Pathfinder. Sandro and the boys take very good care of me and all of my friends.
As for body work, I used to like Baer's on Cyrville, but lately he seems to have raised his prices, and goes for more cash. Dunno what's up? Maybe he has his eye ona boat, or his kid is in college now?

+1 Ralph and his guys are awesome. Specifically Tony at the desk, and Phil or George in the shop. They're exceptionally good to any MCOers.
Plus they all drive bimmers too (well, not sure about Tony, but the others do).
Like:
Apple Auto Glass on Gladstone. Very competitive prices on windshields, and awesome tint service. I've had 5 cars done there and no complaints.
Dislike:
Goldwing Autocare. Terrible customer service - ordered a bulb and it was burnt out when i bought it. Jerked me around for a whole summer and then they finally told me that they lost their distributor and i had to go directly through the manufacturer. Really not impressed. This was a few years back, and they treated me like i was a stupid kid that didn't matter. I'm never going back.

Goldwing used to be pretty good - I went through them for a lot of stuff for my Challenger - but that was over 5 years ago. I know that they have new busines affiliations now and one guy is a total "Richard".
General Auto Glass on Clyde is great for windows, too. The fixed a few chips in my Pathfiner, and it was very reasonably priced.
For tint, I like Performance Auto Care on Triole. They did my Caravan for $100 and did a great job. Nice guys, too.

I genuinely LOL'd.
edit with something constructive:
Autovation: good
Apple Auto near Lincoln Fields: good
Duss: good work, total dillweed to deal with
Ottos: you have to be on them like a spider on a fly to get your work done and parts correct, but generally acceptable. Jules knows the whole story with everything, so if you have a problem, see him.
I will not list the places that suck because it will just start more drama. But basically it comes down to this.. find a shop that will:
1. give you a quote
2. make the time to explain the quote
3. make the time to work on your car as expected
4. consult you when changes to the quote need to happen
5. don't eff things up in the meantime
It seems that those 5 things are impossible to achieve; I've never had a 100% positive experience, anywhere, period. I must be hard to please.

Duss does excellent work, however they do charge a price very close to what a dealership would charge.
If I wanted to get something done and the dealer was the only option, I would take it to Duss.

One cannot argue with the quality of the work at Duss, and their receptionist is very nice. Rudi seems to be unaware of the concept of customer relations.
I have used Autobahn in Manotick. Sometimes, if Todd's busy, big jobs will take a while to get done, but the work is good, and the price fair (he quoted me an hour for rear shocks on my E39 -- book is 6, IIRC). He'll allow you to source your own parts as well. As a bonus, there's usually some neat cars at his shop. Nice guy too.
It says something that I still use him even though we've had issues in the past. He's also given me some good advice as well in the past.

I have to say that I have been taking my new (to me) 328 to Derek at Autovation, and they've been really good to me. Very fair prices, great quality of work, get me in and out quick and have given some good advice. I am happy that someone here recommended them, because I will certainly do the same.
