The chance of that radio accepting the AUX kit is very low.
I believe after a certain month in 2002 (9/2002?), they can be installed. I asked the dealership about mine and apparently my build date doesn't confirm.
It will work on most 2003 models.

I sold the e30, and was only going to buy next summer, but seeing that and the e12 just under it makes me want to make a move now.
