even happens with todays models..(the e90/2 is quicker than the e36 328 was stock for stock..)

Hope you realize that 328 is Xdrive....and also, pulling on a 330 is no different than a 328 considering most drivers will outrun a 330 in a 328.

Oh and I don't believe you.

regardless ,the xdrive e90 328> e36 328.

and its great you dont believe me. I dont even have the car anymore. why would I make shit up?
its not 1989. I hope you realize stock e36 328's are 99% of the time 15(and 16) sec cars.
3100lbs and 190 hp... 16.3lb/hp
my civic stock
2600 lbs 160 hp
16.2lb/hp
i had some bolt ons. never had a stock(or minor bolt on) 328 take me down. obviously drivers play a roll but doing some simple math proves my pt. I even took out a couple poorly driven e36 m3's.
(torque is useful for off the line...and besides the honda has a better torque curve and shorter gear ratios(higher torch output than longer gears) )
:o
its like is 2001 all over again

I dunno man. I definitely think a stock 328 is slow regardless of this convo.

But 203ft/lbs vs the civics 111 at the top of the revband?

I don't know. I'd have to see it. I'm not even sure why I'm arguing. I've never cared about straight line speed.

I'll let it rest at: "I dont know"

lol its all good. Im not mad or nuttin and neither are you. Thats a good thing!

the torch isnt the end all of it, + the civic holds the torque better (flatter) across the board(and in the upper revs) + its short trans. makes up for its lesser output of torque.

I miss the nice pull in the upper revs(or at least it continuing to pull). the m3 pukes like a donkey up top. (I dream of euro motors at night)

no biggie at the end of the day since both (and even the m3) are relatively slow these days.
Im just saying/defending some honor here . I was in the high 14's with bolt ons. faster than the majority of e36 328's out there.
06+ Si's couldnt pull me unless they had a flash.

Have you done the M50 Manifold on the M3 yet? That will solve your guttless top end issue.
