UPDATE.

Like so many other stories, the guy did not come up with the deposit. So the car is still in my hands. Someone else has come knocking however that seems a whole lot more serious. We'll know by the end of this month whether or not it goes through. Car was sitting for 2 year almost and fired right up on the first crank. WTF am I doing selling this thing !??!?!?!??

At this point selling it just loses you money. Drive the thing. Seriously, many people go from car lease to car lease and never own a damn thing, and the lease is about equal (in some cases more) to what you'd spend keeping an older car running properly. (not counting time if it's a hobby).

Hey look!!! $198 bi-weekly for a Sunfire! Well... for $400 a month I can not only keep my car running, I can save for upgrades.

Just my opinion.

Car is not a daily driver. I drive (wreck on our shyt roads!!) a Mini Cooper S for daily commuting.

Hey Tom, maybe I can also put a different perspective on your situation.

A car is just a car, but to a car enthusiast, it is nearly part of the family. I was incredibly sad after selling my '99 S52 M Coupe last Summer. The most nauseating part of all is that I sold it to a Chinese mother of two who had no idea what kind of money and time went into the car.

She just exclaimed how it looked pretty and how she'll make all of her girlfriends jealous. Give me a freaking break. But you know what? In the end, I managed to make a large profit in selling the Clown Shoe and finally had means to go on a glorious vacation to the Cayman Islands with my boyfriend.

All of our "fun" money went into cars... all the time. We had to ground ourselves and bring ourselves back down to reality and realize there are many more experiences to enjoy out there in the NOW. Cars will always be around and available to enjoy!

I just pray to God I never see my "Klaus" ever again. What horrors has he seen since being in her possession? It's best not to think about it, my friend.

Edit: btw, here's Klaus. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...y-pics-inside*

So now I drive a 2004 Honda Civic and shop for my E30 for next Summer. All comes full circle.

As for your M3. I'd gladly take that beast off your hands if my budget allowed for it.

Tom, Ive been in car sales for 10+ years.. you wont believe how many flakes Ive dealt with.
I dont understand how someone can walk away from money after they leave a deposit.
No wonder the economy is in the shitter. People these days are so lost.

Yeah, I took a lot of pictures of the "experience". If/when she goes, she won't be forgotten.

LOL Tom... thanks for rubbing it in.

And since your name is Tom, it reminds me of Tom Hanks in 'Big' singing Memories... in the corner of my mind... scattered pik--tures..
