Whats the law on loud music in condos?

Long story short, moved in into a condo and with medium volume on computer speakers with smallish sub security came twice cuz of the complaigns. What are the laws on that? I dont think this is loud at all. How to deal with this shitty situation? Toronto by law says something about late night music. http://www.toronto.ca/faq/bylaws.htm#what

Ahhh. Yet another reason why I hate condos and could never live in one.

lol, that sucks balls.

1130 is reduce noise. But at the same time I dont think you can blast music at maximum any time during the day.

man you got thin walls if you can cause that much complaints with medium volume speakers...are the walls concrete or just a drywall divider?...I know my unit is built like a bunker, concrete walls, ceiling and floor...barely hear anything but a dull thump if some one drops something on the floor above.....which condo project you bought?

take the sub off the floor and away from the wall. It'll lower the effect on neighbors below and beside you.

Find out what the rules are if any for your condo if there aren't any and it is before 11:30pm tell them to go **** themselves.

I had a townhouse and the walls were paper thin and that's what I did and really the music and tv weren't even that loud.

In our town house we used to hear next door's head board bash against the wall repeatedly when they were 'almost there'
Not sure if I ever complained about that

I'm not sure. I play semi-loud music pretty late in my condo and haven't had any complaints yet.

just be fair and put yourself in the place of your neighbors. i hate hearing other people's music, even if it's music that I like. I would also recommend keeping the bass down.

I personally think that after living somewhere that was attatched to my neighbour and also having to hear them if you don't want to be disturbed buy a detatched house or shut the fu*k till 11:30pm.

Depending on the municipality, different noises get different rules.

Dogs barking is "anytime it's aggravating", a very vague rule. I had a complaint about my dogs. I offered to turn up my music to mask the dog barking. The bylaw enforcement official said that was fine, until 11:30pm. I asked if he had his decibel meter hand so I could get it as loud as legally possible..he refused.

Construction noise is limited to different hours. Not 100% sure what they are, but much earlier cut off then 11:30pm, more like 8pm. I know that the permit you get outlines when you are allowed to work. (at least it does for a commercial contractor).

I hate whiny neighbours.
