Break Pad Wear Sensor

So how much time is there from when the break pad wear light first comes on to when the breaks really really need to be serviced? I knew the breaks were getting bad but the light just came on last night. Just curious how much time I've got to research/order parts.

wagner thermoquiet. much less brake dust with oem like performance. just make sure the tech who does ur brakes does not throw out the pad shims with the old pad. you will get a disgusting rattling sound. its a flat piece of metal shaped just like a brake pad so it can wedge into the caliper to hold the pads snug.

Thanks, I'll check out those pads. I was more curious though about how long I have until I absolutely have to do the brakes. Basically, when will the pads be desintigrate? haha

When the brake pad wear sensor light comes on you have 5% or less so you should get you brakes done a.s.a.p

dont drive around too much, your rotors will get messed up before you know it.

ya, saw around 5% or so. you can do a couple hundred kms still of light driving i think.

Thanks. All of the rotors need to be replaced anyways. I'm probably going to get the overhaul package from Turner with PBR Metal Master pads and braided lines. Any experience?

no personal experience, but at the price point they're good...
why do you want the braided lines?

why not? I'm probably going to track the car in the future so I might as well put them on while I'm doing the brakes now. And if I get any better pedal feel/less squish, bonus.
