17inch rims on 07 335xi with Sport Package

Hi,

I know I already know the answer to this question just by looking at the car, but I thought I would double-check.

Do you know if one can fit 17 inches wheels on a 07 BMW 335xi with the Sport package?

Judging by the space between the calipers and the rims I would say no, but please let me know. I know it is early, but I am looking for decent deals on winter shoes.

Thanks a lot,
Bertrand.

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply... do you know what I need to look for to know whether a 17" rim will fit or not? Offset?

Thanks again for the response,
Bertrand.

335xi's come standard from the factory with 17s, and the BMW winter tire pkg is 17s. The Sport Package gives you 18s but doesn't mean you can't run 17s.

Thanks a lot for the response... If you look above somebody mentioned that there might be some limitations on some rims or can I use any 17" rims with the proper pattern and the proper offset?

Do you also know if the brake calipers are the same size between the Sport package and the non-Sport package?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Bertrand.

All 335i's have the same size brakes....some 17s will clear our brakes....some won't. I am in the same position as you trying to find 17s that will clear my brakes for winter shoes.

Any BMW 17" E90 wheel (325/328 Sport pkg or 330/335 standard) will fit. For aftermarket, check www.tirerack.com, that's the easiest source.

What does one need to look for when buying aftermarket 17s to see if they will clear the brakes or not?

Depends on the manufacturer...e.g. some 17 inch m5 reps clear our brakes while some do not....really comes down to test fitting unless they're oem as far as I know.

Thanks a lot Monaco_N54.... It helps me as it sounds like one has to be very careful with the choice of rims.

No problem...if it comes down to it and you still can't find a winter wheel/tire set I may have a hookup for about 1000-1200+ CAD. I'm looking for cheaper at this point but if I can't I will go this route myself as you're looking at $1500+ through tirerack.

Cheers

I have the sport package and my winter tires are 17s and they fit, if you change your brakes to a BBK (brembo) the they will not fit
