rough idle & abs light

Thinking about pickin up a 325ix, but the owner says its got a rough idle and the abs light is on. Anyhow, just wondering if the car will fail safety if the ABS light is on.
Also, what visual inpections, if any, should I look for to find the source of the rough idle.

Thanx

The source of your idle issue is not easily definable for many owners, but one really common place to inspect visually is the rubber intake boot. If you remove it completly and bend it around you'll probably notice a little tear or two; maybe not. If not you can look at some of the vacumme lines and move them around while you listen to the idle.
The ABS light won't effect the safety inspection, but you should identify the source of the problem.

Apparently the rough idle is do to the MAF sensor. Anyone have one for sale? Also, apparently the abs light is due to a brake lining going to the passenger right rear brake. He said he has fixed it by splicing the wire, but it should be done properly.

thanks!

E30s do not have MAF sensors, the have an air flow meter.

Most comon causes of idle problems are vacum leaks or faulty ICV (idle control valve).

Abs light is a different light then the brake wear sensor light.

Guys telling you things that don't exist or are not related. Get the car checked by your mechanic.
