Nothing fancy. Wash with Optimum carwash, then use Collinite liquid insulator wax #845.
My silver E36 used to really shine after waxing. Very durable too!
Still beads water after a month.
The black E39 is sitting outside collecting dust now.

The paint on my 5 is in pretty rough shape but a coat of wax brought it right back...the paint is way better on my 5 than my 3. Way way wayyy better.
I'm hoping to find time to add at least 2 more coats of wax in the next few weeks...

Your sig looks like a free advertisment for someone who loads software into ECU's! That's great that you can pop out of nowhere and be able to tune all those models, and mention it here for free also.
Your profile says "BMW Tuning Specialist" but you have a lot of other car brands displayed also. I like that location, sure seems like you got that idea from me. But what do you if the car has no MAF?

If you really want your paint to shine, you should have it polished, then 2 coats of wax afterward.

Or at least a clay bar, for those who are polisherly challenged like me.

I've done the polish thing but the winter beats it up good. I usually do clay and then meguiars pro line. Swirl remover, wax cleaner and then wax...I'm just too lazy to care this year. If I get one project finished this year I'll make time to do it right but so far a coat wax is good enough.

I've been experimenting with Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, and it's been OK so far.
The longest water beading the I have ever had came from Mother Quick Detailer. Strange but true!

The best durable waxes cannot be found on Canadian Tire or Wal-Mart shelves!
www.eshine.ca
Klasse Sealant or Collinite liquid insulator wax.
Klasse is supposed to last longer, but Collinite is so much easier to use/apply and lasts just fine.

You should be laughing while polishing the paint on my car. Porter cable in one hand and the power cord in the other.

I'll be laughing when I burn the clearcoat off your car with my Makita rotary.

You got a rotary? What is it?
I only use mine when I get dust nibs/runs in the finish I paint and I need to buff out sanding scratches.
