Not really a tax, or anything to do with the Gov't. You know when you go to the gas station, and you need to put air in your tires of your car? Remeber how that used to be .25 cents? Well, as your probably already aware of, it now cost's you .50 cents for air at most places. Well, the No Frills Gas Bar, close to where I am, now charges a DOLLAR! Ya that's right, a dollar. I used to be free there......
Talk about getting raped by everyone and everything these days....

I remember my local petro had a sweet ass digital air compressor, where you would punch in the number of psi, hook up the hose and it would put exactly the right amount into your tires and it was FREE!!.....
Year later now they go back to the old system and it's a dollar.

I think if you ask for free air they have to give it to you by law.

and do you realised you pay HST on the eco fee ????
there are so much confusion on the eco fee rate and thts why Canadian Tire
charged more on that old lady...
check your receipt and ask questions if you think the eco fee is too high.. then again most cashiers dont even have the answers.......

There's a petro canada near my house that charges a dollar too, I had no choice because one of my tires was nearly flat. Luckily there's a gas station a bit further that has free air, haven't seen that in a long time.
