BMW M3 Frozen Gray Coupe Special Edition Launched
Quote:
BMW has officially unveiled the limited edition M3 Frozen Gray coupe (FGC) for the U.S. market.
Built to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the M3, the coupe features Frozen Gray matte paint, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a lowered ride height (reduced 10mm).
Inside, the cabin is outfitted with Fox Red / Black Novillo leather, "carbon leather" trim, and heated front seats. Other goodies include iPod and USB connectivity, a premium sound system, GPS navigation, and Comfort Access (passive entry).
Like the standard M3, power is provided by a 4.0-liter V8 with 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT), which enables the FGC to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
Production will be limited to 30 units and pricing starts at $77,600. While it seems a little steep, the FGC also comes with the Competition Package and a one-day enrollment at the BMW Performance Driving School in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Really? If you're making a special edition car or in this instance an anniversary edition you damn well better bring up the torch and hp.
Just because they drop it and through in a new interior doesn't mean it's a anniversary edition. BMW FTL this time around.

Don't knock this paint till you see it in person. I got to see it on a CLS and a m6 in Frankfurt, stunning.

Great, another shade of gray.
That will really stand out in the sea of other shades-of-gray cars on the street.
There was a time BMW painted their cars some really beautiful colours.

I totally agree with the fact that there are wayyy to many grey cars out there. They just don't stand out at all.
Take an estoril m3 for example and a silver one. An e36 estoril m3 will still turn heads but I'm not as sure about silver.

All of you guys who have driven a brand new V8 M3, raise your hand. The rest of you have no say in this matter! The regular M3 is fan freaking tastic. The Competition Package (which this special edition has) is even better. Don't let the "only" 10 mm drop fool you. I special ordered a Competition Package on a 2011 M3 sedan for a client, probably the only Comp Package Sedan in Canada, and it is SERIOUS. The matte grey paint job only makes it cooler.
I'll admit the two tone leather and lack of 6 speed availability turn me off though. If I were in a position to get a new M3 it'd be a custom order Comp Package with a stick.

The New M3 Comp pkg is amazing. Such a great driving car. Predictable, and easy to drive. Had a chance to swap cars at the ring with a other Euro Delivery guy there. Such an outstanding car that it makes it easy to go fast.
