I think she's dead...:(

So, I started my teardown, and the driver's side bumper shock is pushed in about a foot. Frame is all crumpled in, and the crossmember is also pushed back. The driver's side wheel is sitting about a centimetre back from where it was too.

So, I've decided to pull the plug. Thinking of getting another E34 and swapping everything over, or maybe a 318ti. Depends on the price and shape they are in. Always been a fan of the ti.

Lots of shells waiting for that monster motor set up.

Are you going to get the frame checked to see if it can be pulled? Tow hooks and chains, and you can borrow my welder if you need it.

Although i you were at the point where you may have been running out of things to do to the car, and a new project can be alot of fun.

Thanks Rich. As much as I wanted to keep my old car, I came to the realization that the smart/cheapest thing to do is to would be to buy another E34 and transfer all the good stuff over. Then there is the crazy idea that a 318ti is 700 pounds lighter than my E34. That would be a fun project.

Only thing with the ti compaired to other e36s is rear suspension your basically running an e30 suspension in the rear.

But you seem to like to build something differen then everyone else and it always nice to see a varity off differently built cars out there.

Alot of that wieght difference is the motor though, as about 200 of that weight is motor

Yep. Autocross. Expensive lesson. Picked up a 1995 525 cheap. Going to swap everything over. Feeling sheepish about bringing that car out again. Maybe an old 318 if I can find one cheap. Or if we move to Downsview. Nothing to hit there.

Don't be afraid to bring it out again lol. the odd's of wrecking your car are much more likely driving on the main road than an autocross

*i was your passenger when we wrote off your e34!!!!* if it helps, that thing felt amaaaaaaaaaazing off the start

bring it back to life!!!!!

It was the fence post around back of the building. Thanks Rob! Looks like you've got a monster in the works there.
