Besides the sponsors here, there will be a new shop opening up in the Richmond Hill area in about two or three months or so. One of the mechanics has been a BMW tech for around 15 years and has very recent experience with the newer cars as he worked at dealerships until this year. PM me and I'll send contact info for him.

I live in London but I am looking at buying a car at the BMW dealership in St Catherines. I had planned to got to RMP for a PPI assuming I would find a suitable car in the GTA. However, I found one in St. Catherines and was wondering if anyone knows of a good mechanic or shop in the St Catherines area. I searched this forum for any info but was unable to come up with anything.
thx

RMP Motors is worth the drive
Long overdue thanks to, and recommendation for RMP Motors. Since getting my '97 M3 sedan in 2005, I have tried a few different shops, but despite the long drive out from downtown TO (and painfully long TTC commutes when I have to leave the car overnight), I now take my car nearly exlusively to RMP.
Why RMP? Their diagnoses of the problems are almost always right on. Rocco has an uncanny sense about these old cars - I gather new ones, too. The fixes leave the car usually feeling incredible. The rates are very reasonable compared to other shops, especially dealers.
But here's the clincher - in the rare instance where a mistake gets made, the re-fix is done quickly and free, no questions asked.
Technical prowess + 100% integrity = customers' confidence and loyalty.

^funny, I've actually been in there once about 4 years ago. I asked an old guy in there about rolling my fenders and he wanted no part of it. I ended up doing it myself.

Keep in mind the only one that will grease every joint, torque every bolt and treat your car like gold is YOU!!!
that's also why i like to do my own work.

The fact of the matter is that any competent mechanic should be able to fix your BMW...Don't kid yourself they are really not that complicated .
It's a hell of a lot easier to work on a car if you have GT1, ISIS, Snapon Scanner with BMW modules and your careful not to break any of the plastic parts that comprise our cars..
A lift an air tools also help tremendously.
Don't think that a mechanic is going to grease every bolt and clean every nook and cranny they way I know some of you do!
I am not against mechanics but realize that your service price will pay their work hours, rent and profit.
When a mechanic hears you have a BMW they see $$$$ in their eyes.
However that being said Rocco at RMP did give me an excellent quote on some work. I have also heard that Bimmersport and Stance factory are also good. I personally do not know as I have been plodding away at my car on my own. There's also a guy in Scarborough Midland /eg that is known for BMW work...I forget his name but he seems very knowledgeable and reasonable. I could find out if anyone is interested.
I personally would contact Mark D'Sylva and ask him if I needed a mechanic.
Finally, whatever you do...DO NOT GO TO AUTOTREND!!
