I am looking to swap the drive train and suspension/brakes from my (crashed in the rear)1997 M3 4-dr into a solid e36 (1996-1998 4Dr preferred). Idea is to build a some street/track car that is pretty much rust free, not ugly but does not need to be picture perfect.
I have a few questions:
What can I expect to pay a shop to do the swap work?
What would the shop cost be if I did the suspension myself and the shop just does drive train?
Any shops recommended for the swap?
What considerations should I make when choosing the new e36 body?
What other mods should I consider doing while doing this work?
other things to think about might include subframe reinforcement, rear shock mounts, cooling system overhaul, m50 manifold, exhaust, great brake pads, upgraded sway bars, new guibo, fresh bushings all around...
