Legal to have a radar detector outside of the car?

Is it legal to have a radar detector outside of the car? Basically what im asking is, is it legal to have a radar detector shipped to ones home in ontario?

I know you can get laser jammers legally as "parking sensor".

any specific radar detector you looking for, reason why I ask is I've been looking for one in the past years but never bothered getting one as of yet.

Most places won't ship to Ontario.

they are illegal to have IN YOUR VEHICLE. You can walk around and wave it in the air, but the moment it gets INTO your car, they can slap some pretty hefty fines on you, as well as confiscate the device. 99% of people will not ship them here, they will most likely be seized at the border. You have to go to the states than stick under the seats or something when you come back across.

If you do plan on doing this, make sure you get one that allows remote install so that the detector body can be hidden, and the actual warning screen looks like something incospicuous (like where the S.I. board goes on my E30 for example)

The beltronics STI driver is undetectable in ontario. It works very well, lots of members on here have them. They're made on matheson in mississauga, but as stated, they're illegal to use/sell in ontario. (simple posession is not illeagal)

You can transport a radar detector in Ontario as long as the item is sealed and in another box. As soon as it's exposed in the open inside a vehicle your guilty.

correct me if I'm wrong but if the device is enclosed inside a magnesium case...its undetectable, I dunno where I heard this but ya, any idea on this?

i had my car broken into several years ago and wanted to report my radar detector stolen on the police report. The police told me I couldn't report it stolen as it is contraband and if I persisted in trying to put on the police report i could be arrested. I was told, very unpollitely to leave the police station and rethink my actions.
