Dude's tone was terrible; deserved a brutal cavity search and seemed to be provoking for purposes of recording.

I understand the guy but he did it in the wrong manner, acted like a douche and wasn't respectful. You do not ask an officer if he's going to shoot you. I didn't hear the part about him threatening them though did anyone else? Bad audio in that part of the vid.

Depending on body language "What are you going to do?" could be taken as a threat.

We will never know

I wonder how he got this audio? You'd think he would have been searched for a phone/recorder.

So am I the only one who thinks he did this on purpose? I guess he'd have to be a serious douche to not have his gf in on this but still... I bet he's had bad experiences before and wanted to get some proof. Then once he had it, he started kissing ass to get out of it.

The stories I've heard from US friends coming into Canada are far worse than anything I've heard or experienced going to the US. Canadian friends have been hassled a lot too, especially anyone with a commercial crossing at Queenston/Lewiston. But except for a couple of close calls, they usually don't even look at my passports (well they do lately, but not much more than that).

I went to pick up a load from Buffalo three days ago, once I got to the Canadian side they kept me there for 20 minutes asking all sort of questions.

CC: How long away
Me: 2 hours
CC: Where did you go
Me: Tonawanda
CC: Why?
Me: Pick up a load
CC: Who authorized the pick up?
Me: My Dispatcher
CC: Who is your dispatcher?
Me: Sylvia
CC: How do you know Sylvia?
Me: She is my wife
CC: Who authorized Sylvia to pick up the load?
Me: I did.
CC: Where were you when she dispatched you?
Me: In the office.
CC: What position do you have in the company?
Me: I own the equippment.
CC: What position does Sylvia hold in the company?
Me: She is the president.
CC: So, you tell the president of the company what to do?
Me: Yes
CC: She listens?
Me: Sometimes.
CC: Where do you live?
Me: Beamsville
CC: Anything to declare?
Me: No
CC: Who's computer is that on your front seat?
Me: Sylvia's
CC: Do you have written proof that she authorized you to take her laptop.
Me: No, I just took it.
CC: Why do you have her computer?
Me: To watch a movie while they are loading me.
CC: What movie?
Me: Avitar!
CC: Do you have a receipt for the movie.
Me: No!
CC: Did you pay taxes on the movie?
Me: I didn't however Sylvia did.
CC: What else is on your computer?
Me: I don't know.
CC: Your citezenship?
Me: Canadian
CC: Where were you born
Me: Croatia
CC: Where you taking the load.
Me: Beamsville.
CC: Why? The bill of lading states you are going to Mississauga.
Me: I'm just taking it to our yard and another driver is going to Mississauga.
CC: Who is the other driver?
Me: I don't know.
CC: Who does?
Me: Sylvia.
CC: When is the last time you crossed here?
Me: I don't know.
CC: How much fuel do you have on board?
Me: 300 Gallons.
CC: In litres?
Me: I guess around 1200 Litres
CC: You guess?
Me: 1135Litres to be exact.
CC: Where did you buy the fuel
Me: I did not buy the fuel.
CC: Who did?
Me: The last driver.
CC: What is their name?
Me: Don't know.
CC: Why not, if it's your equipment.
Me: I can call Sylvia and find out.
CC: How long have you been doing business with this company?
Me: First load
CC: What's on board?
Me: I don't know, they closed and sealed the door.
CC: So you take load from a company and you don't know what's on board.
Me: Correct.
CC: How often do you do this.
Me: Every day.
CC: Have a good day.
Me: You too.

Hate Canada Customs. Once they pulled me in on a Saturday and kept me there for 8 hours. They unloaded my truck and inspected every box. They went through my entire truck. After 8 hours they charged me $400 for unloading and loading fees.

I like the part of the video in which the customs officer says:

"As soon as you pulled away from my officers, when they went to grab your arm, that's assault. ...You're going to jail."

Pulling away from someone who is trying to grab you is a natural reflex, and there is no way that can be considered assault. I honestly don't think this video is fursrs.

(sorry I cut the exchange so the quote wouldn't be massive)

Wow, good on you for keeping it together. I generally accept that I'm going to get all kinds of disrespect and I should just spread my cheeks and try to enjoy it. But that would definitely test my limits. One time I went with my parents and my mom doesn't speak English very well. We get to the US guy and he does that hardass thousand yard stare they do. Asks my dad some questions, then starts asking my mom and my dad relays. The guy says I'm not talking to you, [looks at my mom] how long have you been in Canada, why don't you speak English? I think I held my breath for the rest of that time, I could feel my temper kettle blowing its top. And if I did, what comes out of it? NOTHING. Well, I'll probably get turned around after waiting 30 min in the lineup.

Baltimore Cops Arrest Couple for Asking Directions - and their parents individually were both cops
http://www.wbaltv.com/news/9229472/detail.html
