car wont start

well i dont have much details to provide.... the car simply wont start... it turns over...it cranks but nothing.... by the sounds of it the fuel pump isnt turning on? i cant hear the humming noice when i turn the ignition over....my local mechanic who works on bmws said 3 series have great fuel pumps and has never had to replace one... any ideas?

fuel pumps are common problems on e36 and they do wear out especially when people drive with low fuel levels for long periods of time.

turned out to be fuel pump... thanks Tom highline motors for supplying replacement part... install went great and car fired up first crank
