Car looks amazing, nice touch to the front. I'm not a fan of Hamann sides (style) as some members know. You'll very quickly find out the mistake to have anything fiberglass in the front end, especially down low. That's your biggest mistake. I had the same lip in urethane, and THAT took a beating with stone chips and curb scraps. Fiberglass will chip instantly with any small pebble-impact (urethane will absorb impacts) and crack like an egg if you accidentally graze a curb. You can find (fake) Urethane Hamann lips cheap on ebay now-a-days... similar to my old one pictured below.

to defend his fiberglass choice

i had a lip on my old GTI, (fiberglass).. it was lower than you can imagine (probably 2 inchs ground clearance)... it lasted its full life...

took a beating on the stones after the first year, but after that, i clearcoated the shit out of it, and it was fine.

the only issue you're gonna have is you only get 1 chance with fiberglass.... hit a speed bump too fast and its gone

ya, I'm aware of that. Costs were right on the parts, so I jumped @ it. Seemed odd to have the fibreglass on the lip, but it is a real Hamann (stamped and prod code). Already have a few scrapes underneath (thankfully not visible)...... Just gonna be careful I guess.... Been all over the place with it and amazingly have gotten in and out of places I didn't think I'd make it..... LOL......

Been looking @ different side skirts as these are not my favorites, but I do like the look. If anything a next winter mod....

I think black calipers woud be "lost" behind the graphite rims. Since the 330s use larger calipers than the other 3 series (except M3 of course); abotu 30% from what I've seen, many people think I have oversized or racing calipers..... plus, I really like red for calipers (last couple of cars have had red calipers).... apparently so does Ferrari (not comparing; although my bro owns a few), Porsche, Lambo, Brembo, and many others...... seems to be a popular colour for brake calipers..... yellow would not suit the look... Black could work...... Silver NFG. thoughts?
i see what you mean... i think silver would work
i love red, i just think it clashes too much with the silver... also its more of a 'racer' (which your 3 series probably won't pass for), hence the porsches, lambo's using it...

its like when you see a navigator with red calipers.. just looks out of place.

someone photoshop some red calipers for us!!!!

Well, did the front brakes last night (rotors, pads, caliper rebuild and paint) and here are the first pics. Sorry I couldn't get a better pic of just the calipers installed, but space was limited in buddies shop, so not much room to move car around. Going to finish rears today. Just remove, wash, paint and re-install.

Not sure about the Silver calipers, but that could just be because I'm used to seeing red calipers for the last 10+ yrs (painted the calipers of my 2 x Bonneville SSEi's and 2 x Mazda Millenia's red previously). Gonna give them a couple of months (and my wife's opinion) to see if they stay Silver....

Well?

it looks good, but personally i would've gone for black if your choices were silver, grey and black.

I'm still partial to red for calipers, but was trying to move away from boy racer, so thats why the red is gone (for the moment). I felt that black would get lost behind the Graphite coloured rims. I might try Black next spring, see how that looks.

have you thought of blue? not sure how that would look with your rims but might look good.

those look awesome!

good job. the nice thing about calipers are that even if you end up not liking your color choice, you can easily change them

good job

Thx! My thoughts exactly, however, been alot of posiitive responses to the new colour. "The car looks sleaker, etc" so I guess the poll was accurate in gauging public opinion..... Actiually starting to like them other than the right front caliper has been a bit "grabby" since the rebuild. GOnna have to pull off tomorrow night and check it out....
