miata bbs on a 89 325i?
question from a newbie, just purchased a 89 325i to replace a miata and wondering if the 15" BBS wheels will fit without any modifications/spacers. current tires are 195/50/r15 and am also curious about tire size affecting speedo. thanks in advance for the help

Nicely done! Car looks good! Take the cap off the BBS, and look at the stamping around the hub. I'm assuming those are 15" x 7"... if the offset (ET) is around 24-25 they'll fit fine... assuming they are 4X100 bolt pattern... or, you could just take 15 minutes and mount one. Your speedo will be pretty close. If your offset is around 30-38, you'll probably need spacers.

So, for your 6" wide rims you should have closer to a ET30... ET45 will require spacers. Try mounting one to the front end, and you'll see the problem. You won't be able to get the rim flush to the hub because the spokes of the rim will hit your brake caliper first, and/or the tire will hit the strut tube. Either way, you'll need spacers.

195/50/15 is a tad short. Your speedo will read a bit faster with that size. Stock is 205/55/15.
