Hey guys need some advise for a new video card.

Motherboard is a Asus P5B-E.

i want to put in a stronger video card for designing.
i will be using solid works.

can you suggest a good video card that will handle the demands of solidworks?

Graphics cards are cheap now. Anything with at least 256mB GDDR3 would suffice.

But if you want to run Solidworks i suggest you have 64bit and over 3 giga memory!

I go with a nVidia solution. Unforrtunately your MB doesn't support SLI dual card technology, however, all current nVidia cards DO support SLI and would make a better investment. If you upgrade MB in the future to support computing requirements, you can simply add a second PCI-E SLI video card and get significantly enhanced video computing power..... ATi cards also have WAY TOO MANY driver and compatibility issues... Also, don't support SLI dual card technology.....

ATI's use XFire which is there form of SLi. Cant say I've had any bad experiences with them.

Also when using SLi, both cards need to be of the same GPU in order for stability.

how can i get windows xp64?
and
will a video card with pci express 2.0 work on this mb?

looks like a PCI-E connector. Read the manual, it will tell you what the interface is rated for and version.
