Havent looked at the leak yet. Alternator was mucho dinero and I didn't bother doing it.
I think the leak is the power steering pump. It was leaking when I did the alt. My mech tightened it up at the time but I think I may need to replace it now.
Wait, just to correct, it's not the pump. It's the hoses at the pump...I think. I alos like to think of it as anti corrosion protection for the bottom part of the chassis and motor. *sigh*

Power steering leaks are very common with bimmers (3 series at least). The most common culprit is the clamps. Ask your mechanic to change them with a wider clamps: those than can be tightened with 8mm socket.
