it doesnt happen anymore...connections..they have human resources that does all the screening so the "generation employment" is history.Apply online..you can use references from people who is working at city hall but dont expect to get streamline to the front.City Hall is always hiring enforcement inspectors,you should see those bastards during the days downtown they are all over the place..

go to a dump site, ask for the supervisor and hand deliver a real resume.

thats a good idea, employers like when u take that initiative to drop off ur resume in person....

Or think you're trying to bypass the system. When candidates drop off resumes to us we just pass them along to the HR dept for their screening. That's why they're there.

most waste managment is out sourced, you have to continually scan the city web sites for jobs if your trying to get in a union job.

current job is general tradesperson, first full time job I could get, we take care of 12 buildings on the Etobikoe site on Kippling rd.

previous job was Radiation Protection Technition(responsable for bringing up to 30 people into work and keeping them from dosing out in the reactor, as well as monitoring radiation levels of different areas) Loved the work but was seasonal as they shut the reactors down for spring and summer maintance outages. 3 months 60hr week, then laid off, but always called back.

First Job, ERT (emergancy response team) one year contract on their on site fire dept. Took pre fire service at Durham Colledge and took contract for work experience, when I saw what OPG was like, never wanted to leave!!
