Trim Paint
Hi guys,
Anyone ever paint the trim on the bumpers and around the side of the car?
I know these are silly and specific questions, but I want to try and make my car as close to original as possible (when possible)...
What kind of paint did you use, and did you use glossy or flat? It looks as though the bumper trim was originally glossy and the trim around the car was originally flat.
Also, how did the paint hold up?
Thanks,
Brent

Yeah, I used trim paint on my bumpers way back when... '06 I guess? Holding up well! Spray it well once the first time, and it won't need to be touched up again (ex. like in a few years). If you try to respray it after, the paint buildup will make it look cheap and shitty.

I paint at a shop you buy a scotch brite the red one and you sand it with water after that you spray it with a lite coat of self etching primer that will make paint stick good after the primer you spray sem trim paint it matches factory trims in color I have used it in diffrent cars and it looks brand new hopes that helps

I haven't painted it yet, but I did replace the steering rack, inner, and (soon) outer tie rods. I also have to replace one of the lines from the stereing fluid reservoir to the rack, so that slowed me down a bit. But I have been prepping and stripping the car down in between working on the steering, so I expect it to be painted in March or (most likely) April. When is the first cruise? Gives me something to aim for!

First autocross is April 11th, so I would imagine an opening cruise would be close to then. Spring is coming soon!! Don't worry, no matter what you do to it between now, and the first cruise, you won't be done. E30's are never done.
