so my neighbour is in figi

I have been taking care of my neighbours house for the past year now while he has been working in Figi for the U.N. as a project manager on the island of Samoa hooking everything up to city water like us........
He was from Britain......

Just read that one Briton is missing and presumed dead.........

How would I find this info out?

I emailed him on tuesday as soon as I found out but haven't heard back yet and he's pretty quick with emails, except power is out, I hope that's it.

call UN and ask for info to see if he's dead or not.

Yeah Fiji,
I called the British embassy in toronto and they gave me some info on where to call to find out........Hope it's good news cause I also read that 15 Britons have been evacuated.

update:

after not hearing from him in a month He finally emailed me. His daughter and son-in-law were ON the beach when the tsunami hit, they got swept away. They both managed to hold onto seperate trees but when the second wave hit she got swept away into the debris....her leg got f-d up really bad, she's back home in Dubai recovering well.

Phil (my neighbour) said they get small earthquakes all the time like 10 seconds long, but he said this one was different. It lasted 30 seconds at least.

yeah, 180 people died there.....

On a funny note, he emailed me before he came home for the holidays......

Picture this, he is in his late 50's early 60's, pretty good looking for his age. Travels the world, has money, and is single.

He had a girlfriend in the Dominican who was almost half his age who he has flown to his house before....He has pictures of her in his living room and in his bedroom......

He emails me and says......

"Dave, can you hide the pictures of the lady from the dominican I have in my house? We are history and I have a "friend" from Samoa coming home with me for the holidays."

I laughed soooooo hard after reading that......

And guess what, he brings back this 23 year old Samoan GODDESS..........I swear she could have told me she was a ****ing model and I would have believed her.

Unreal!

All I'm thinkin is good for him. He's still got it. hahaha
