E30 Gas Tank for sale

I have a gas tank from an 1987 325is. It's been in my garage for the past 10 years (I switched to a fuel cell). Tank is in a great shape with no rust and the sensors are looking great. $100 in Mississauga (QEW and Hwy 10).

This tank is from an 88+ e30. It looks mint, if I didn't have my spare, I'd be all over this. Sweet deal.

Would this tank fit an 87? This looks like an E36 tank, I didn't know the late ones looked like that. It has the second sender hole on the passenger side, which is what I want for a dual pump setup.

It should fit D, you will have to run the return line differently, but for the most part, it will fit. I forget where the fuel filter is on the early cars, but on the later cars, the filter sits roughly in the same spot as your main pump does now.

Sweet, thanks! Yeah the fuel lines will be redone completely so that's not a worry. This is good news.

I appologise to OP to go somewhat off topic, but why do the 325s have 2 sending units compared to my 318is? Also, my tank has a little "S" shaped tube going from one side of the tank to the other which the 325 tanks don't have. I would guess the 2 sending units working together give a more accurate reading, but how does the fuel make it to the side of the tank where the pump is?

I don't know how the gas makes it t the other side without a connecting tube. I hav also seen the tube you're talking about and this one does not have one.
