Are you referring to the black one on kijiji located in Waterloo?
If so, I believe that is a ‘csi’. That’s about the typical asking price of ‘csi’ models nowadays.
Like any old BMW, you have to look out for rust. Shock towers, floors, rockers, behind the front fenders, etc... are all common starting points.
E3 Bavaria’s had the same rust problem areas. You can still find great examples, but be careful.
Tony is correct, CSL's come with alloy fenders and hood and plexi glass windows.
The 'L' is for lightweight hence the lighter components used....and I believe thinner steel for the remaining body panels were also used. Even the doors were made from aluminum!
Those cars are rare and parts are relatively expensive....'used'. Unfortunately, parts are also rare too in good condition.
CSL's can go for large money if done correctly but a proper restoration can run the cost of a new E92 depending on condition.
I've seen them sell for $50K+ USD, but these cars have a lot of time and money invested into them too.
One thing is for sure, these cars do not seem to be losing any value whatsoever.
