E90 17 inch performance tires

My 07 manual says go with 225/45 for front and 255/40 for rear for a non sports package. Is this clearly the best configuration if I plan to keep the car stock or are there better size configurations based on user experiences?

I was also looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 as a replacement for the stock run flats. Any help would be appreciated.

For a non-sports package, I would stick with 225/45 R17 on all four corners. This way, you will save overall on tires since you will have the capability to rotate the tires from season to season.

The staggered set tires are part of the sports packages, but they do fit the car.
