power steering issue
so i went to go out this morning and my powersteering pump was growling like crazy... once it warmed up all was good. i want to flush the system but not really sure what to put back in it for fluid. any recomendations?

1995 325i vert. Lowered, 18 inch M rep rims, intake, smoked lenses all around, hid's, angel eyes, intake, strut bar, m3 mouldings. plus tonnes more. (moms)

I;m guessing the fluid is pretty much black. It breaks down really quick. Just put some ATF in there. Any brand. Just remember, you don't put power steering fluid in there.
Try even topping it up first and the sound may go away.

hard to see the colour but i assume so as well... i know it takes atf im going to put a synthetic in there in hopes to keep the temp down. had really god luck with this stuff at my shop so.... off to work tomorrow to do a flush. thank god for hoists

Because you're not supposed to put PS fluid in. Says right in the manual and on the cap "ATF ONLY"

haha.. im at a desk not under the hood. Its -20 here.. my steering is fine so i'll leave it alone..
But i do see your point if its spelled out on the cap! touche, touche haha

any quams with synthetic fluid in power steering.... i run the same in my tranny and its awsome

just use any Dexron III ATF and you are fine... synthetic or not.
I personally used all the leftover RedLine D4 ATF that I have left from the tranny flush
