535i E34 dies at idle, ecu cuts fuel and spark, oil pump dead?
SO what happened today, car dies at idle and doesn't start right away, starts only after like 5-7 minutes of standing. While I'm driving it, it's fine, no problems, i come to a red light, dies in 10 seconds of standing. The OBC sometimes tells me "oil pressure sensor". My guess is there is not enough oil pressure at idle and the ecu shuts down the car, so oil pump has to go. Any other ideas? Can this happen due to oil pressure sensor fail?
M30B35 engine. Car is a 5spd E34.
p.s. changed fuel pump, crank position sensor, rotor, cap, spark plugs, wires, oil pressure sensor, still fack-all. Oil light flashes when i start the car, goes off when car starts, i drive for a bit, car warms up, again i go on idle car shuts off, ecu cuts fuel and spark, trying to save engine from death i guess. Maybe when car is cold oil is thick, oil pump builds pressure, when car warms up, oil gets thin, pump can't make pressure anymore. HELP, is there a way to check if the oil pump is dead?
