BAHHHHHAHAHHAA

Seriously though, hugging your car helps. If I even *say* something bad about my car in earshot it screws up. I say nothing but good things and it treats me well.

If I sit in the garage and smile at it for a while, the next days ride is always amazing.

If I smile at mine, it blows a catalytic converter.

Weird... Not sure what to tell you, that is the exact response I got from him, spelling and all...

If you guy's are interested, give him a call and ask more questions. But the price is right, and the guy did an amazing job. He has years of experience.

It's funny, E30's are like that. They enjoy little smiles, and nice talking. Mine was the same. E39's seem to be opposite. Like Phil mentioned, they get angry when you smile for some reason. His blows cat converters, mine pisses in my face with coolant.

Oh yeah, I was just listing mechanical things. I've also gotta get the hood and trunk redone. Rusty poop.

Carbon fiber doesn't rust. Do it.

If you're going to correct the problem on your trunk, I suggest you get a new lid. You might even find one cheap from a wrecker in the right color from the US. Get it shipped to NY and go pick it up.

You already know that the rust inside that boot lid is incurable. But a trunk lid swap is easy and probably cheaper than paint anyway.

Don't remind me. I dunno what I'm gonna do about that.

Edit: and the other problem with getting a trunk lid from the wreckers is that I don't know what the condition of it will be. For all I know it could have the same problem. If yours had it and mine has it, it must be somewhat common.

Are we talking about rust at the trunk seam? I dont' think mine has that but it's at the bottom of the door seams...No rust on the hood either. Rock chips galore and sagging hood insulation but no rust!

I just the car rust proofed to hopefully buy me some time...

Well, yes and no. It's actually rust inside the trunk itself, and eventually perforates at the seam like mine. So it could be rusting without actually seeing any sign of it.

Get those rock chips fixed ASAP! Seriously, that's how mine started. When I bough the car there was no rust on the hood, and within no time all the chips turned to rust.

Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible, but I know it's there. It's also just getting worse the longer I ignore it. But every time I start thinking about getting it repaired, something else breaks.
