The price is negotiable, therefore depending on the price worked out I will help with travel expenses / shipping as well. A free trip to buy the perfect sports car for all four seasons!!
I WILL HAVE PICTURES TOMORROW EVENING.
Here is an Iphone teaser in the mean time ...
What made me choose the SE?
The SE is the best of the Evolutions. The IX is also the last of the ‘true’ 4G63 Evolution IX’s. The SE uses the stronger 5-speed transmission, has the beautiful front lip, all aluminum fenders, hood, roof, and trunk lid, carbon fibre interior accents etc. It was the best choice when purchasing an Evolution IX. It was chosen over the MR strictly on the far superior transmission if nothing else.
How can you tell the car was treated well?
If you just take one look at the car, or take hours to look over it, you’ll get the same impression both times. The car is VERY well cared for, and the one fact that speaks strongly about how this car has been driven in the STOCK CLUTCH. The clutch on this car has NEVER been replaced, and was checked over last winter. The clutch is still in fantastic condition, so I chose to put it back in the car with a new OEM throw out bearing. These cars tend to eat through clutches if driven improperly, or launched. This car has NEVER been launched. Not once. You will have no worries about the transfer case of transmission in this car.
Where did I purchase the car?
The car was purchased in July of 2008, just over a year ago. The original owners name was Mike Adams, a late 20’s, well to do, three time Evo owner that purchased the car new from the dealership with 1 mile on it after he missed having one so badly. He purchased the car in Orlando, Florida and drove it home to Jacksonville. The car remained stock until 16,000 miles, and then was treated with tasteful modifications from TTP Engineering in Orlando. He was an absolute stickler for maintenance, and sent me very detailed pictures prior to my purchase of the car. His reason for the sale was the release of the new BMW 135i. Mike wanted to do the ‘BMW experience’ of buying one from Germany, straight from the factory and then shipping it home. I flew from Halifax Nova Scotia to Jacksonville to view the car, the last week of July 2008, loved it, purchased it, and brought it to secure storage and flew back to Halifax for a week to return to work. On July 29th I flew back down with my Step Father to pick up the car from the Jacksonville secure storage at the airport, and drove it home 2800 miles with no issues to Halifax. It must have been one of the first legally imported Evo IX’s in the country. The car was then registered and insured in Canada, after passing the Federal inspection as well, legally making it a Canadian automobile. It was fitted with daytime running lights to make it 100% legal on Canadian roads (the fog lights have been wired up as daytime lights.) The car has never seen snow or salt, and 'grew up' on smooth Florida roads.
Why am I selling the car?
Upon purchasing the car I had every intention in keeping it forever, and enjoying it on a daily basis when the sun is shining, in three seasons. I’ve since been promoted to a fulltime position that requires LONG hours, therefore I spend most of my time in 9am and 5pm traffic driving a Toyota Camry, instead of on the back roads with the Evolution. I only let one person touch the car, and it only sees one lift, which is 45 minutes away at Taylor Made Performance, where my good friend and mechanic Troy Bennett works. With the new schedule, I’m unable to really take advantage of this car, and it sometimes waits weeks to take a shot down to see Troy for tuning, or an installation of a part because I just don’t have the time do it during the week. I plan on selling the Evo to purchase an Audi A6 S-Line Quattro (The opposite of the Evo, really) until my significant other graduates university, and I purchase another project to keep in the garage.
When was the car built? Who Built it? What Parts?
On September 20th of 2009 I decided to build the car completely, and have it ready to receive bigger injectors and turbo in the coming spring. Every single part was purchased from TTP Engineering, injector scaling and baseline tuning was provided by 4WS Tuning, and the whole engine was assembled by one of the best engine shops in Canada (Well known for their NHRA record holding engines, and millions of dollars of precision machinery) called Armstrongs. The Block was line honed, the cylinders were honed, and the entire bottom end of the engine built properly with perfect clearances, specs, and every a suggested oil weight to run in the build engine based on the tolerances. There was no expense spared in this build. The Pistons are rated at 1000hp+, the Crank and 1000hp+, the Rods at 650hp+, and the top end will rev to 8500RPM for fun. Basically, with a $1600 turbo and a set of injectors you could be making 550awhp on meth, or even more with a full turbo kit (35R, etc.)
The engine was properly broken in with conventional Castrol 10w30 with no boost, under different loads, and never above 4000rpm. At 800 miles the conventional was drained (and contained no harmful looking particles) then was switched to AMSOIL Dominator 10w30. The car just reached 2800 miles on the build, still on the baseline tune boosting 10-15psi at part throttle. The car has not burned a drop of oil, and runs excellent.
See Below for a list of parts, pricing, and installation dates.
Why should I chose this Evo over any of the others for sale in Canada, or importing one myself?
I spent the time, money, and effort to import this car, and do so at quite an expense. Between provincial tax, federal tax, and 7.1% duty, it added almost 20% of the initial cost onto the car. I was prepared for this to have the car of my dreams. After flights, tanks of fuel home, border charges (A/C taxes etc.), federal inspection, daytime running lights, plus the upwards of $15,000 in tasteful, well thought out aftermarket parts, it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
THIS Evolution IX SE is a perfect example of what these cars should be. Not abused, tastefully modified, PROPERLY BUILT. Above all, well taken care of, and maintained like a top. The leg work is done, it’s legal, and registered in Canada, it has a perfectly clean title, and immaculate history. This car has nothing to hide, and I will put you in touch with the previous owner, that now lives in Seattle as well.
The car will have a baseline tune for partial throttle cruising to get you back home, and you will be put in touch with Tamer from 4WS Tuning. The tune IS ALREADY PAID FOR, and he will send you ECU flashes that will meet your fuel (91 or 93 octane) and driving style requirements for a personal tune, which are also based on your driving style and what you want from the car (edge of the line tuning for major power, or a conservative tune to make sure everything is in check for thousands and thousands of miles of enjoyment.)
Often, with Evolutions, you’ll have people trading in cars that have been raced, beaten, improperly tuned, then stripped of their parts and traded to a dealer for you to buy a ‘stock, dealer maintained Evo’. The sad reality with these cars is they often get into the wrong hands, and you can be plagued with problems for the entire life of the car. Noone wants to purchase a $3,000 transfer case, or spend thousands on a spun rod bearing. The quality of this car is well above any other you will find registered in this country, I can promise you that.
For ‘roughly’ the asking price, you are getting a car that will make 500+ crank horsepower on pump gas with methanol, and will out-handle a Lamborghini on the track, our accelerate a new Ferrari F-430, and still carry 5 people, listen to your favorite CD with the A/C on, and get 30mpg on the highway out of boost. It’s a track warrior, a street demon, and the ultimate drivers car … you will not be disappointed.
I am willing to answer any of your questions, and if you read this far, please contact me directly and we can arrange a viewing of the car, a test drive, and getting it in your hands for years of enjoyment.
The car has all fresh fluids (AMSoil Dominator, Diaqueen transfer case, Redline MT-90 transmission, etc etc.) and will have no problem even getting you thousands of miles across the country if you live out of Nova Scotia.
