m20 build up questions

Alright, so plan is 2.7 bottom end, 2.5 top end, de burred rockers, 272/272 cam, stock springs, titanium retainers, stock valves.

goals>> umm not entirely sure, maybe boosting but at the moment probably not as it will be a track day car so i just want a little bit more pep than usual, the motor is probably going to be replacing an m40 in a 318is. Reason im picking m20 because of m50 or s50 is just because the conversion is 10 times easyer! and cheaper

Now, few questions...
1.The diesel crank is forged and i hear i can use that one? anyone done that before?
2. which internals would be best, 2.5 or 2.7
3. i should probably get about 6500RPM out of the deal rite? i know the rockers are only good to about that.
4. any sugestions?

make up your mind if it's going to be N/A or a turbo motor first.

Mister formula ford, I think you need to do some searching and reading before making another thread. R3Vlimited, and E30tech are your new bibles.

Your goals cannot be dual purpose. You build a motor for either or, NA or FI. Make a choice.

1. Get an eta crank, cheaper, and just as robust.
2. ?
3. No, they can go higher.
4. M50 swap. Newer, faster, reliable and cheaper. You can't honestly tell me an M50 swap is 10 times more expensive than an M20 swap, especially an M20 that's been rebuilt.

Im not doing an extreme m20 build, i just have access to a shitton of misc m20 parts from seta to eta to i motors. So i can do it for like stupid cheap. My main question was about the diesel crank.

M50 swap can be done for under 1500 easily.

+1 if you go cheap m50...if you did even a slight rebuild to an m5x or s5x motor they would rape whatever your m20 could put down after you pour money into it... you can get that engine for cheap -- lots of kids crash their dads e36 lol
