Did some searching, and have a decent feel for this topic, but wanted to ask it out loud.

Can those who commute comment on the usability of the FJR1300 as a daily commuter?

Im located in Redmond, WA think Seattle, then nudge the pin north-ish, so rain is, lets say, "possible"...

Im thinking in terms of comfort call it a 20 mile one way trip, worst case, wind/rain management I ride with the proper gear, so wondering what the bike adds to the equation in terms of wind/rain management.

im guessing if your running a quad core processor your fallout 3 game of the year edition should run smoothly. consider upgrading your video card though. a good video card goes a long way in PC Gaming

I test drove the 335i in both stick and steptronic. As long as you let the auto do its thing and a good portion of your daily driving is highway, you can get very decent mileage. I got around 12l/km work to home aggressively using step and 9.5l/km easing off the gas and letting the auto do its thing. The trip is 16km, 12km of which was highway, with a LOT of traffic at either end of the trip. The stick is just too easy to get into trouble with

I got a 325i from Budds BMW back in February of this year and love the car to bits. I really like how it handles...and it is a great daily commuter. I spice it up a bit with my '98 328iS in the summer, which is a project car for me and one that I am fixin' up to be a good solo-track/summer fun car, but otherwise, I do like the ride of the 325i. Look at the stock at Budds BMW....great place...nice dealer....and some good people too.

Just a quick update from my first post on ths thread.

The Altima just turned 400,000kms coming into work today. No signs of giving up any time soon. In fact I'm actually buying snows for it. I didn't think it would go another winter but apparently I'm wrong.

Also on that note, i picked up an e36 m3 and i'm getting the same mileage as 318s,325s,323s,328s.

averaging 600km+ on 52L (i fill up early) probably closer to 700+ if i ran it to empty.
worst was 500km on ~52L when i was enjoying the s52 every chance i got.
And this is mostly city driving. Haven't done lots of long hwy driving yet.

I'm enjoying the power and the better fuel economy over my old e30.
Only downside is i now use premium, but im more than okay with that.

^ no offense, but what does this have to do with the OP that is in the e90 section? OP is looking at e90, not e36 or e30.

My last two service visits to Maranello I had 323 and a 328 as loaners so its been useful to live with the cars for a day or two.

The 323 was a fine car and would be a more than suitable DD. It was sluggish to get moving but once you're cruising the hwy you're fine. The 328 had lots more umph, as you'd expect, plus you get xenons, better stereo and few other little things.

It simply going to come down to money. If I can get into a CPO 328 within 1-2K of what I'd pay for a 323 anyway then its worth it. If the difference starts creeping into the 3-4K range then it not worthwhile, to me.

I think I said in the OP...I have a family, properties, investments, main family car (X3), blah blah...oh ya then comes my DD. If it was just me, I'd be in a M3 or something no problem. Logic says, I can drive a brand new Civic for < 20K but I just can't do.

I recently had to make the same decision as you and ended up getting a CPO 2006 330i from Autohaus. I drove a 323i and in comparison to the 325/328 it felt like a slug. I decided 330 over 335 mainly due to HFPF issue. I have been really happy with it (had it for a month now). I'm getting close to 600k per tank...all city and I have a lead foot...actually I sometimes can't help myself but to hammer it every once in a while

I was just at the dealer picking up my wifes 2005 X3 and they have a 2005 330xi in the CPO showroom 76,000 kms asking < 20K.

Is the 05 and 06 330 basically the same car or is your 06 330 sitting on the E90 platform??

I commute Barrie to TO everyday so this car with awd is tempting...
