I wish it could be ready by next summer. At the rate things are going, it would be nice to even see it run by then.

Rolled the car around for some more work last weekend... Lots more progress.

The mockup engine makes another appearance. Bolted up to the e30 318i trans, it was hoisted and dropped into the 02s engine bay.

Forgot to take a pic of the engine sitting in the engine bay.

When underneath, progress took off. Chopped a few pieces of metal, and with the help of dad and the welder, got a transmission brace fabbed up. We recycled my old infamous solid transmission mounts from my e30, and lined everything up.

Driveshaft was also fabbed up, made from a hodge-podge of BMW driveshafts, no pics of that either.

Still have to attend to shift linkage, axle halfshafts, and flywheel/clutch/starter assembly and the main bits of the driveline will be figured out.

Yes you do

We will see how the next few weekends go with events (autoXs) and school... Pipe dream to make it run NAed at the very least before the snow flys?

Never got around to posting these. So much for making it run, snowed up here like mad yesterday, and not even a smidge of progress. Weaksauce.

Damn engine bay is so big, could almost swallow up a V10

Yep!

Was up to the shop last week and noticed...a total lack of progress. One day there buddy. Liking the Fiord Tii with Webers in the lot, too bad I'm broke. Also liking the red M1 from New Brunswick. Also too bad I'm broke.

Not much progress lately. Got a Turbo drain fitting on the block if I haven't mentioned that already, will get a pic of that soontimes.

Got the Turbo manifold painted along with the exhaust housing of the turbulator... painted and baked, ready for action. I wonder how long this paint will last

Also mounted up one of my old RA1s onto the rims to be used on the car. Holy damn, still intrigues me how much wider R Comps are compared to regular street tires... or unless Falken street tires run really, really narrow lol.

Also came across another problem. Using the original 4 piston calipers is now out of the question due to poor rim clearance, I guess that is what I get for trying to run with such silly rims with huge lips. The new plan for brakes is E36 components up front, while E36 calipers and VW rotors will occupy the rear end.

Yea, I'll try to resize those for next time,
