Comments on Jaguar X type

My friend just got a 2005 Jaguar X type with the 3.0 liter.
It pulls hard with it's 230hp and the all wheel drive system.

I think it's a great car and you can get it for cheap!

Did anybody here tried this car before? How would you rate it?

I might consider buying one eventually as a dd.

Cheers

Jags are not known for long term reliability, a 2005 Jag is just breaking its manufacturer warranty. I personally don't know anyone that owns one or have ever owned one myself, but Jag and land rover are very much alike, not very reliable after warranty expires...

You don't know what you're talking about. Ever since Ford bought it in the '90s, quality and reliability have improved.

X Type is essentially a repackaged Focus, using parts from Ford's bin. That's why it never took off and was seen as a detriment to Jaguar's prestige. I'm sure it's inexpensive as a result.

Here is a review on it:

X-Type = overpriced Ford Mondeo.

But if YOU like it, that's what matters.

I would rather say it's Jaguar remake of the Mondeo (mystique or contour to us, north american). There is a lot of ford components under the hood. I'm sure a lot of parts can be taken from Ford models if anything breaks down.

they're pretty shitty. And I like Ford. Unreliable car. Mid 90's/early 2000's Ford/Jag sedans weren't reliable.
