Who gives a shit, that is what insurance is for.
Seriously get that attached to your car to cry about it?? I get bored of cars after a few months.. infact I wish someone stole my m5 so I wouldn't have to bother selling it privately, and even get more from them!

You might not care, but others do. Enthusiasts are called so for a reason. You're clearly not an enthusiast.
Insurance will only cover what you decide to let them know you have. But even then the money you 'might' get out of your insurance company still doesn't = the amount of time and work you've put into the car.

I consider myself an enthusiast, I just don't think I'd lose sleep over a car.
My friend had his 1998 Integra Type R stolen a few months ago, it had 180,000kms. Now, that car retail was PROBABLY worth approximately 9-10,000gs, if he was lucky! (its been repainted) considering the mileage, etc. ( He had plans to sell it. )
Luckily for him, his insurance paid out a whopping $17,500!! He personally wants to write a thank you letter to the thieves.
I'm sure he will get a decent settlement, and move on to another project.

Possibly^^^ But not everyone is as lucky as him. And as for boomerang, that only stops rookie car thieves. I have 2 friends who were using Boomerang in theyre cars ( built type-r, and built civic) Both cars dissapeared and were never seen again.

I guess everyone has their own way of looking at it. People that actually work on their own cars and make them 'their own' are different from people that just buy a car that's been modified to a way that they like it.
Don't get me wrong, I would be saying the same thing if I were you. You drive a stock ///M5. You have nothing to loose. You don't put countless hours into your car making modifications to your liking. That's where the difference lies.
As for your friend with the ITR, he wouldn't have gotten that much for it if he were honest with his Insurance company. And what happened to him is a rare case. Getting a payout like that on an old car is not something that happens often. Most of the time you're left holding the bag when it comes to older cars.
