New jobs created, but unemployment edges up

ruh roh

All of the new jobs were part-time positions, and the number of full-time jobs in Canada fell by 3,500 in August.

Job losses in August were largely in business, building and other support services, education services and manufacturing, which lost another 17,300 workers.

This so call economic improvement is all BS.Its election time so the clueless government is trying to ease in more stimulus promises if they win.I know some companies are still doing well but a lot are suffering bigtime.Manufacturing jobs will not come back and the saving grace of low interest is providing a bit of a push in the real estate market. The true main indication of a recovery for mid 2010 is preorders for the holiday season by retailers which is way down. This christmas if going to be brutal for retailers.800 large malls closed down in the USA in 2009 and its estimated another 600 will close after New Years if the sales do not improve.Have you driven to some of the commerical areas in Maple,Vaughn,Brampton.I seen so many for lease and sale signs of these units its staggering.I remember one 10,000 sqft in Maple that was selling for $1.8 million in 2008 and now its still for sale at $900,000 and still no takers. Its been a hard year for a lot of people...but hell the city workers got their demands we should be ALL happy for them.
.Never banned but came very close..three times

FWIW, the city workers were not demanding anything.. Miller wanted to cutback, they just wanted to keep what they had.
The city is cash strapped cuz the Federal gov't told Toronto to Foff.
