e36 Radio Code (US)

So since my car is a US car, it came with a US radio that I wanna try to get working. It's not the original deck to the car so I had to get the serial off the deck itself.

I gave all the info the the Dealership (hw.7 & kenndy), They apparently looked into it and weren't able to help. Told me a should call a US dealer. Would a dealer actually give me the code over the phone? Anyone done this?

I'm starting to think using this deck isn't worth the hassle.

Canadian or american cars doesn't matter. But most of the time you have to fax them over a copy of the ownership and S/N of the radio and they will have it on file.
If you have problems pm me, I need to get one towards the end of this week.
