i say the e46 m3. its half the price of the other 2. with the other $30,000 you save, theres your tires, suspension (cause you have to lower it) and other maintenance items and a couple trips.
also agree. but i'm sticking to the options in the post. if money was not an issue i'd get a koenigsegg.

Money is an option up to $65,000, but obviously I have bargaining power... I can see myself walking out with each car for about $5,000 each for the 2009's, and about $2,000 for the M3. So I don't really want to spend that much, but at the same time I'm stuck between buying a new BMW or an older M3. Either way my budget is $65,000. Oh and let's also assume the M3 has about 85,000 km's.

I voted 335 because I am biased and love my E93...

It's pretty fast (it's chipped...), looks good, is comfortable and fun as hell to drive, reliable (except for my rim situation, which you don't have to worry about since they don't make to 230s for 2009) and has all the bells and whistles that I need on a car and more...

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the E46, especially an M, but a 2003 is 6 years old now and a pretty penny to maintain since its out of warranty and has an "M" tacked onto it...

Maintenance costs and warranty should be considered before you make a decision as well... Although I'm not sure a $35,000 difference is enough to sway you to a 335.... You could buy another M with the difference and use the 2nd as a parts car... lmao

I voted 335i because the M3 was too old and will have higher mileage. Make it an '06 and I'd change my vote. You'd still have warranty and a low mileage ///M. I just picked up my '06 M3 for $45k with 27,000km. They're still out there and well within your budget. Still leaves you with 20-large for mods. Don't settle for an older ride. Unless it has to be AW 'vert.

You can buy programming that will push your 335 into the 400bhp range easily for approx 2000 usd. M3 or 335i? that is a no brainer... 335i handles like its on rails and even stock will give the M car a run for it's money. M3 is 6 years old as stated and no warranty.M products are always $$$$ to maintain. However 335 has had some turbo issues recently from what my bmw tech buddies tell me. I get the low down all the time from the shop seeing I practically live there. 135 is cool because it's a compact with the same power but chinsy on the options seeing it's a bit smaller. for a few bucks more why not get a 3 series. More bang for your buck. it also has sexier lines.

As much as I love it, the E46 is just getting dated. The E9x series cars are just better, esp the a 335 coupe. Even a factory M-sport kitted E92 both looks and drive exceptionally well. If you're comfortable with spending the 65k, grab the E92!

edit: The one MAJOR factor the M3 has going for it is the LSD . But, if that is of no concern to you then this point is moot.

I voted M3, because I'd rather buy a capable car for half the price... but that's just me. 335i is a close second.

I agree with the unfair comparison. Personally if you are looking to spend that kind of money you might as well get the M3. Here it is in white:

Having said that..if I were to pick between the choices you have laid out it would be M3 or 335.

What’s long term reliability on those twin turbo motors? 4, 5, years down the line. Giving normal maintenance. Anybody heard, read anything about them?

Correct, when turbos start going and E93 get older, it will cost $$ to fix.

When I look at E36 M3 guys and their cars selling for equal to E46 330ci, it gives you a sign to take a look at this again. Also E36 M guys did not spend that much on mods as 330ci guys. I can just imagine if E36 came with a real M engine. It would give 330ci a nice run. This is where E46 M gets in the competition with E93 non M cars. All in all , you want the original M and new body style. This is the bottom line.

Also europrince and steph had issues with their cars and maintanance , so they want new cars. That is understandable. I am just speculating here for their opinions on new cars.

Also stop with "dime and dozen bs". Any car under 100k will be out there quite a lot.
