Cracked another Style 230 Wheel, gave up & ordered a set of these...
K, so a lot of you have heard me bitch about having cracked one of my ZSP 19" Style 230 rims earlier this summer. BMW had been having loads of problems with these, I've even heard rumours that there are some thousand lawsuits against BMW NA regarding the faulty 18" (Style 189) and 19" rims that come as an option on the E9X 3-series. They aren't doing SHIT about it.
I am appalled by the lack of engineering and poor quality of these gorgeous wheels and our POS Toronto roads don't help my case one bit. I am constantly swerving around potholes to avoid smacking up my rims.
Anyway, after discovering a crack on my driver side rear rim, I have decided to give up on the OEM wheels completely and grab a set of 19" staggered VMR V710 wheels (in HyperSilver) instead.
The price of ONE rear Style 230 wheels is $900.00 ($3400 for a set - STUPID, I know), and replacing them would not guarantee that I wont have problems again, nor would repairing them. Frankly, I don't have the time to be scrambling to fix rims on a monthly basis.
The set of new wheels cost me $1100.00.
Whatcha think?

stop taking your car off jumps.
VMR's match E92's very well. Good choice.

Good choice!
Let's hope they are stronger and stand up better than your OEMs.

Your new wheels are beautiful. Your old wheels were nice, but the new one complete the car better.
Is it just me or does your back wheels are WAY inside the wheel arches? You don't get in trouble with the police?

thanks!
yea the 230s are REALLY soft... be super careful with them hun, seriously... I drive the car hard, but I don't HIT things... It just doesn't make sense!! I swerve for potholes, etc and they are STILL getting damaged. The runflats don't help either, although I swapped mine out already.
good luck (although im sure you have better luck than me!!)

LOL honestly your old rims were blah new ones say "power" "I know I am the shit" "I am someone who drives her car" very stylish yet aggressive 10 times better then the origionals
my opion may be due to the rims on my car, but I love the look of these style of rims on BMW's!!!!!!!!!!!! Black BMW's with this style of rims always turn head, no matter how old or new they are!!!!!

Hey Steph, I like them much better than the stock ones you've got on your car now. Good call, and good call on getting rid of those run flats, worst invention ever.
