Exclamation Anyone from Windsor area?

I spotted an e34 for sale in Windsor and I'm trying to convince my dad to buy it for himself. Looks like a great deal if it's in good shape but I'd rather not drive out there just to check it out. Could someone do me the favor? Also, if we decide to buy it, anyone know a trustworthy mechanic out there that could safety it? ...without racking up the bill to make money for himself...

talked to the guy 2 weeks ago right when he fixed the cracked windows. was thinking of buying it and swapping into my e30 as the manual tranny is appealing and hard to come by on the 535, at least from what I've read. But the wife put the vito on that. lol.

How did the car seem? What about the seller? What was the price then?

never went to check the car out, the seller seemed like an ok guy. think he said he got a new car and just needs it out of his driveway.

Hate to crap on the party, but it seems like one of those scam ads. They always say "pre-owned" in the ad just after the price. E34 535i 5 spds are pretty rare/sought after these days, and if this guy is legit and knows what he has, he should know he could easily get twice that price all day long, despite the high mileage. Plus, look at the pic of the trunk lid - what's with the 'ti'? I can't see why that would be there unless the guy's a serious poser, or it's really someone else's turbo 535i and he's trying to pull a scam.

I'd phone the guy and press to see the car and see if you don't get some kind of story about how he's got other people that want it but if you send a deposit he'll hold onto it. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it seems fishy.

Can't seem to find the add but it was on kijiji windsor with phone number. Guy said if he can't sell it he's going to trade it in on a new truck, and that was a week ago. Guess he still has it or didn't get offered what he wanted.

In the add for kijiji it said the window was cracked and when I spoke to him he said he just fixed it so couldn't move on the price much. Who knows though like I said I never actually went to see it.

Anyways best of luck. I'd offer to go look at it but I'm about 30mins from it and I am swamped at work for the next few weeks, and I'm sure it will have moved by then.
