Need advice

My stepfathers e36 318i has a bad starter. We are at the point of having to remove the whole intake manifold to get at this thing.

Is this the right way to go about this? the bentley says just to remove the two bolts and then take off the starter...... yeah right!

Any advice or tips are welcome. I already can't stand that engine... makes me appreciate my m20.

Thanks guys!

Performance one step at a time.
